The Boiler Suit
Posted on 21 September 2015
Whether you have Marilyn Monroe curves, Kate Moss worthy hipbones, or a Marlon Brando rippling chest - the boiler suit will prove you mean business. Military wear is yet again enjoying a resurgence; both female and male seasoned vintage devotees never tire of the green stuff. Highly wearable, massively comfortable and simple to style up or down - why would military chic ever fade away?
So serve your style proud and invest in this gloriously versatile piece.
Ladies: Wear your boiler year round: layer up for winter by slipping a jet-black cashmere (if your wallet allows) sweater under the trustworthy green or deadly black, leave the top buttons undone, then clinch the waist with a battered leather belt to show off your curves. Either heavy boots or Doc Martens will finish this look for chilly times, and of course - rolling up the legs adds that extra edge. In warmer times, wear the buttons open for an unmistakable attitude top on, then roll up those legs and show some skin; boots, killer heels or Converse - anything will work.
Gents: A lot of this look depends on you; do you want to be rough and tough? OR so smooth it hurts? The choice is yours. A classic crisp white or navy t-shirt worn underneath this pure cotton boiler with a few buttons open, roughly rolled legs and work style boots or Converse will make this look tough.
